+ Who is it suitable for?
Hydrafacial helps to improve overall skin texture, tone, and appearance due to deep exfoliation that cleans your pores, removing dead skin cells and allowing for better penetration of face serums tailored to your skin type. Hydrafacial is suitable for most patients.
+ Who cannot have a Hydrafacial?
- Pregnant and breast feeding patients
- Active infection such as herpes
- Active severe acne
- Current skin cancer in treatment area
- Any patient who has has used oral isotretinon (Roaccutane) within 3-6 months prior to treatment
- Any patient who has burned skin, blistered skin, irritated skin, or sensitive skin in any of the areas being treated
- Dermal filler within the last 2 weeks or wrinkle relaxer within the last week
- Any allergies should be discussed to ensure a safe treatment is recommended
+ What does it feel like?
Most patients find the Hydrafacial experience relaxing, a gentle suction and scratchy sensation can be experienced.
+ How many treatments are required?
A single in-clinic treatment will have the skin feeling smoother, more hydrated and gives the skin a instant glow. Monthly maintenance treatments will help improve the appearance of skin texture and tone, congestion, dullness and fine lines.
+ How long do results last for?
Results may last up to 4 weeks with correct home care to maintain the skins appearance.
+ Are results immediate?
Usually patients will start to see results almost immediately after treatment.
+ Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime post Hydrafacial, although the skin may appear slightly pink for a few hours after treatment due to stimulation and active ingredients applied to the skin during treatment.
+ What should I do before my appointment?
- Avoid waxing and hair removal creams 24-48 hours prior
- Avoid any retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide products 48 hours prior to treatment
- If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend oral antiviral to prevent an outbreak
- Arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment to complete forms
- Remove makeup prior, if possible
+ What is my post treatment care?
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 5-7 days
- Avoid makeup until the following day
- Keep the skin hydrated with moisturiser
- Avoid active skincare for 7 days
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours
