Under Eye Rejuvenation in Hillarys: Why the Eye Area Needs a Different Approach

The skin around your eyes is unlike anywhere else on your face. It is quite thin, almost constantly in motion, and lacks the supportive fatty layer that gives the rest of your face its resilience. So when it starts to change (a little more crepiness, some hollowing, shadows that seem to linger no matter how well you sleep), it makes sense that treating it requires a completely different approach.

At our Hillarys clinic, under eye rejuvenation is one of the most requested treatments. And it is also one of the most nuanced. Here is what we want you to know before you come in.

Why Standard Skin Treatments Often Fall Short Around the Eyes

Most treatments designed for the face are not transferrable to the eye area. The proximity to the eye itself, the delicacy of the skin, and the specific biology of what is happening there all demand treatments that are precisely suited to this zone.

What we often see in clinic is that clients have tried a range of eye creams and serums with limited results. Not because those products aren’t good, but because the changes happening in the periorbital area go deeper than topical products can reach. What you are noticing at the surface is usually a combination of things happening in the dermis: collagen loss, reduced circulation, thinning skin, and in some cases structural changes beneath the surface.

This is where our advanced clinical treatment comes in.

The Treatments We Use for Under Eye Rejuvenation at Hillarys

We offer three advanced treatments specifically suited to the eye area. Each one works differently, and they can be used individually or combined for more comprehensive results.

Tixel uses a form of thermo-mechanical energy that is one of the only technologies we can safely apply directly to the eyelid itself. It works by delivering precise, controlled heat through millisecond contact, stimulating collagen and elastin without the risks associated with laser near the eye. We use it to address crepiness, crow's feet, puffiness, and upper & lower eyelid laxity, and it also creates micro-channels in the skin that allow serums and other treatments to absorb more effectively immediately after.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) uses your own biology. We draw a small amount of your blood, process it to concentrate the growth factors, and reintroduce it into the under-eye area. Because it comes from you, it is exceptionally well tolerated and it works by improving circulation, supporting skin quality, and gradually thickening skin that has become fragile over time. For dark circles with a vascular or pigmentary component, it can be particularly effective.

Rejuran is a polynucleotide-based skin booster derived from salmon DNA, that is highly compatible with human tissue and works in the mid-to-deep dermis to support tissue restoration. It is specifically suited to the thin, delicate periorbital skin, addressing skin quality, dark circles, fine lines, and crepiness simultaneously. Results begin to appear from around four weeks and build across a course of treatment.

Why We Often Recommend Combining Treatments

Eye ageing is rarely caused by one thing, which means it is rarely solved by one thing. Different treatments work on different layers of the skin and address different biological processes. When we design a treatment plan in clinic, we are thinking about how to address the full picture, not just one aspect of it.

Two of our favourite pairings for the eye area are Tixel with PRP (which we think of as our regeneration pairing — Tixel creates the channels, PRP floods them with growth factors) and Tixel with Rejuran (structural tightening combined with deep biological repair, in a single appointment).

Combining treatments in one visit also makes practical sense. It means fewer appointments to achieve results that no single treatment can deliver alone.

The Consultation Comes First

Whatever you are noticing around your eyes, the right starting point is always a conversation. We take the time to look at what is actually going on along with your skin type, and specific concerns or goals, before we recommend anything. That is how we make sure the plan we put together is genuinely suited to you.

If you are based in Hillarys or the northern suburbs of Perth and you have been thinking about under eye rejuvenation, we would love to see you in clinic.
